Arun Mahato
Lead scientist

Arun Mahato, PhD, is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Saarma Lab, HiLIFE, University of Helsinki, and serves as the Lead Scientist at GeneCode in Estonia. He possesses a strong background in physiology, neuroscience, and biochemistry, with a specialization in neurotrophic factors, RET receptor biology, and translational approaches to Parkinson’s disease. His research also addresses other conditions, including Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP), and Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). Dr. Mahato’s work has received numerous fellowships, grants, and awards, and he has authored many publications in high-impact journals. In addition to his research, he actively teaches and supervises students in the fields of cellular and molecular neuroscience.
